You should be aware that rebutting something requires that you refer to what the original argument actually said, and then refuting it with a rational, logical argument that is based on facts.

Simply making irrelevant vacuous claims coupled with various logic errors such as ad hominems and appeals to authority are not a rebuttal, they are a vindication of the claim that Deniers are utterly clueless and hence believe the most idiotic frauds like the Oregon Petition.

Michael Mann, the appallingly corrupt pseudoscientist who invented Al Gore’s infamously mendacious hockey stick graph, unsurprisingly emerged unscathed from a Penn State investigation into the lies he peddles on behalf of the global warming hoax. After all, Mann is a pro at sucking government money (i.e., OUR MONEY) into the university to finance phony research proving that only still more greedy and repressive government can save the allegedly imperiled planet. Now Mann has taken the offensive, threatening to sue people for laughing at him:

The parody video, titled “Hide the Decline,” had more than 500,000 viewers on YouTube and received national attention when Rush Limbaugh played it on his radio show. It features a cat with a guitar, a talking tree, and a dancing figure sporting the image of Professor Mann. It’s the use of his image that Mann is complaining about, arguing that the video supports “efforts to sell various products and merchandise.”

Unfortunately for Mann and his fellow hoaxers, the lawsuit threat is blowing up in their faces now that the bluff has been called:

“The guy is crazy to threaten legal action,” said Jeff Davis, the President of No Cap and Trade, a large organization that includes the group Mann is threatening to sue, Minnesotans for Global Warming. “A lawsuit would give us full discovery — and there’s a lot to look at in his work.”

At first it looked like the typical liberal intimidation tactic of screaming “I’ll sue” would silence the opposition…

When the letter first arrived, [Minnesotans for Global Warming] quickly pulled the video from You Tube and their website because they couldn’t afford to defend against a lawsuit. But, as word spread of the legal threat to the jokesters, a number of groups, including No Cap and Trade, rallied to their defense. They even backed a newer version of the video titled “Hide the Decline II” and re-posted on You Tube and the No Cap and Trade site.

Let’s watch the videos and have good laugh at Professor Mann and his unraveling lies, shall we?

The amount of CO2 gas in the atmosphere has been measured since 1957 or so. Keeling curve. The steady emissions by mankind dwarf any put out by volcanoes.
