Deniers denying denial, the EPA Scopes trial on trial

Next in the docket for being criminally bewildered, the climate change Deniers at the US Chamber of Commerce (hearafter CoC). We have some updates from the blogosphere, and a jaw dropping attempt at revisionist damage control by the CoC to consider.

A few days ago I reported how the US Chamber was calling for “Scopes Monkey Trial” type hearings on the Environmental Protection Agency (hereafter EPA) endangerment findings and proposed action. Much has been going on, so let’s sample some of it.

The CoC started some damage control with the unsubstantiated, unsourced claim by Brad Peck that “… the agency [EPA] used secondary scientific sources, studies that largely weren’t adequately peer-reviewed and the selective use of scientific studies to justify a policy decision they wanted to make.”

While the evidence before us clearly shows that Peck is something of an expert on using questionable sources to justify a decision that he wanted to make, I’d still like to know what his source was. No mention of the it though; apparently the CoC does not believe in transparency and using information that is beyond question.’ Maybe we should have a trial?

APS to blame humans, not God, for climate change

Commenter John Mashey noted that “Outpouring of Scientists Rejecting Man-Made Climate Fears!” was too long and really needed to be two posts. True enough, hence APS to blame humans, not God, for climate change. So if you read the former, you need not read the new post as it is merely a cut and paste with the sole addition of:

From the APS Executive minutes “…to adopt an agnostic stance on the scientific evidence…” is the rather thin, even lame justification for the title, but I simply could not resist 🙂 .

Carlin Lives! Funnier than ever

The climate change Denialosphere is all a twitter over their latest fraud.

It seems Carlin co-authored an internal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) climate change / global warming report with John Davidson that was suppressed and censored until the courageous Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) blew the whistle on the EPA.

.OK, except

• it’s Alan Carlin, not George,
• it’s not an EPA report,
• it was never suppressed,
• there was no cover up,
• CEI is just another PR firm pretending to be a think tank,

and all Carlin (the principle author) does in his personal (NOT agency) rant  is regurgitate the standard Denier nonsense known to be scientific gibberish, (but he’s still funny).
