I have just taken my last exams, so I have got some time for the next few months.
It will take me a while to catch up with all the dross in the inbox, but when I’ve caught up with it I’ll find another post.

I owe all and sundry an apology and update on the status of Bob Austin, who is displaying vigor and dishonesty as a top fake skeptic. I know a group at Princeton who felt they had gotten him to look harder, but apparently it did not take. My original source is frustrated about this, but stubborn dishonesty is hard to break, especially when supported by peer groups with lots of money at their tail.
OTOH, I’d like to mention that personal attacks on people wavering does not bring them to face reality, but makes them dig themselves into their foxholes. This is bad tactics and I’ve seen it drive away potential truthseekers more than once. It is important and useful to be polite and literate.
A little study of the vast accumulation of knowledge and information about climate and science would do anyone a bit of good. My fellow guests at others’ blogs who attempt to discredit their hosts, please get your head out of the main fake skeptic promotional sites and do some serious reading. You too could join the reality-based community. You wouldn’t deny the science behind the workings of your computer, nor would you choose minority opinion on your health, your car, or your plumbing. Why are you willing to do so – do you think you can “vote” on the planet? Do you think this will benefit your children? Do you think the trend ever-increasing extreme weather phenomena we have witnessed in the past few decades are an artifact of your imagination?
Given what has happened this week it might be useful to review the BEST results and the predictions a certain person that has attacked this blog in the past made before the results were made public and reported in over 100 media outlets around the world:
